Mildred L. (Barney) Bennett, 92, of Arnold City, Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Braznell, Pa., daughter of the late Henry Aldridge and the late Ella Redmond Aldridge. She was a member of the Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by three sons, Joseph Bennett and wife, Patricia of Winston Salem, N.C.., Daniel Bennett and wife, Donna, of Monessen, and Dennis Bennett and wife, Michelle, of Belle Vernon; sister, Betty Joseph of Shelbyville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Bennett; son, Robert Bennett; five sisters, Maude James, Edith Wolfe, Pearl Hamilton, Beatrice Coulson, and Irene Peto; three brothers, Theodore, David and Willard Aldridge. Friends will be received Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, and Monday, Oct. 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, PA, 724-326-5621,http://www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
